Local Code will support two types of submissions. Discourse on Design and Art and Research on Design and Art. Submission types include; A Short Paper of 1,500-2,500 words, Long Papers Up to 5,000 words, Design Research Projects and Conference Presentations containing up to 15 minutes of video recording.
All spelling within papers and supporting documentation should be in Australian English. Authors are to follow the Chicago Manual of Style (16th Ed.) referencing and punctuation conventions. For a template click here to download:

All images, inclusive of those produced by the author should be referenced and all quotations should be accurately recorded and referenced.
Guidelines
Essays
The editorial committee will consider short essays of 1,500-2,500 words and long papers up to 5,000 words including notes. All essays published in Local Code are blind referred by two readers nominated by the editorial committee.
To be included in submissions are: an abstract of 200-300 words and an 80 word biography of the author.
Design Research Projects
The editorial committee will consider design projects with merit. Design Research Projects are to be represented in no more than 4 panels or posters and should not exceed 72dpi in resolution. Design projects must be accompanied by a 1,000-2,000 word exegesis clearly outlining the research and the outcomes of the research. Design research project submissions should also be accompanied by an abstract of 200-300 words and an 80 word biography of the author.
Conference Presentations
The editorial committee will consider conference presentations. The conference presentations must be accompanied by a 500 word abstract and an 80 word biography of the author.
